‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9 spoilers: Zack returns; Sheldon and Bernadette hang out

We really dig some of what “The Big Bang Theory” has planned for Thursday night’s new episode entitled “The Fermentation Bifurcation.” For one, it’s a chance to pair up characters who don’t get to spend much solo time together; also, it marks an opportunity to see a little bit more drama for Raj, and bring someone back in Zack who we always love having on the show. He was one of the few “jock” boyfriend characters brought onto the show who made an effort to get to know the guys, and he was really fun to have around. Of course, it was inevitable that he’d go away in time since Leonard was unquestionably always Penny’s endgame.

“The gang goes to a wine bar and runs into Penny’s old boyfriend, Zack (Brian Thomas Smith). Also, Bernadette gets stuck spending the evening with Sheldon when she can’t go wine tasting with the group, and things don’t go as planned when Koothrappali introduces his new girlfriend, Claire.”

Surely there are other things that Bernadette could’ve done, right? Probably, but it’s much funnier that she spends time with Sheldon, who in some ways may be able to show her (at least accidentally) what it’s like having a child. The promo below gives you a little bit more insight on what this particular experience is going to be like for her. Maybe the two will find common ground somewhere in here.

As for Raj, we hope that his “dating multiple women” all blows up in his face at some point. While it is completely believable that someone like him would try this just because he’s not used to the attention, the longer he does it the more he risks coming across as unlikable.
