‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Creator teases JoJo Fletcher drama

It’s been a while since we’ve had much of a substantial tease on “The Bachelorette,” but there has been more or less a reason for that. After all, the ABC franchise has been filming, and we’re in that part of the season now where we are in other parts of the world, and the show is even more protective of the contestants who are left. Before this time, they’re more than fine to throw out a few spoilers here and there to get people excited.

The Twitter tease below from show creator Mike Fleiss signifies that, to the surprise of almost no one, there are some guys who are probably not in the competition “for the right reasons.” Here we go again with that one…

The reality here is that this is going to happen almost every season of this show, mostly because you’re basically promising people a chance to be on television for weeks, raise their profile, and potentially give them a chance to star on their own season of “The Bachelor.” Maybe they get “Dancing with the Stars” after that. If they end up with the Bachelorette, it means a wide array of magazine covers and celebrity appearances.

Ultimately, we think casting likes to get a couple of these pot-stirrers / fame-chasers in every season for drama, but beyond that we’re sure there are a couple of genuine candidates in here who really do fall for JoJo / whoever the lead is every season. These are the people you hope make it to the end; cynical as the producers may at times be, we do legitimately think that they want their leads happy and with someone great in the end. That only adds more currency to the show’s overall premise.
