‘Longmire’ season 5 photo: More Mathias!

 

In some ways, we suppose that it was a given that we would see more of Mathias on “Longmire” season 5. He’s an excellent character, and he represents an entity in the tribal police that we don’t often get a chance to see on other television shows. He’s someone who clearly does want to help his people, but is often limited by various restrictions and red tape that shows constantly the problems with the system.

In the photo below on his Twitter, Lou Diamond Phillips confirmed that Zahn McClarnon is back once more as a character, and also makes a reference to the excellent role the actor played on “Fargo” season 2. (Yep, it’s clear that Mathias and Hanzee are very different people.

Provided of course that “Longmire” is actually filming these episodes in order, it feels pretty clear that you’ll see Mathias once more fairly early on in season 5. The show is still a matter of days into production in New Mexico, and it will be continuing for many months.

As for what we can expect for Mathias and Henry, that is still a mystery. While the cast and crew is very good when it comes to sharing little photo teases here and there from set, everyone is extremely invested in keeping things under wraps. Given that we’re getting all of the season 5 episodes at once later this month, we understand the want / need to keep things secret. That will make things all the more rewarding when we come around to the show airing.
