‘NCIS’ season 13, episode 20 preview: Another Michael Weatherly story in ‘Charade’
While we were starting to get a little bummed out a couple of weeks ago that there weren’t many Tony stories on “NCIS” leading up to the exit of Michael Weatherly, we’re now getting more and more of a clear indication that this is something that the show is hoping to emphasize in a big way leading into the finale.
Tonight’s episode “Reasonable Doubts” is a chance for Weatherly to work alongside Robert Wagner for at least one more time (Wagner said on “The Talk” earlier today another appearance could be coming), and you’ll get to see Tony Sr. and Tony Jr. working together in stride. When the show returns on April 5 for the next new episode, there will be a different sort of plotline for Weatherly’s character in “Charade.” Based on the synopsis below, it looks clear that we’re going to see a major case of identify theft, where Tony has to figure out how to protect himself when his name starts to become associated with some rather unseemly things:
“After Tony’s identity is stolen by multiple perpetrators, the fake Special Agent DiNozzos begin blackmailing Senators.”
Could this be in part what inspires him to move away from being a part of NCIS? At the moment, we presume that almost anything and everything is on the table for him, so we cannot write this off completely as a possibility. For now, we’re just hoping that whatever ends up being a story that feels earned, since Tony has shown so much loyalty and devotion to the team over the years.

I just hope that the story isn’t designed to make Tony look clueless and stupid so that Gibbs or/and McGee can save the day. I wonder if we’ll see any hero Tony before he leaves or if Gibbs will still do everything that flatters a character every week.

Sounds like he will need to leave the country … and go to Israel. :)
