‘Shark Tank’ video: Can Illumibowl shake up your … toilet?

Let’s be honest here: How many out there are saying that they really want to shake up their toilet game? Probably not many, but for those of you who are, there’s still a product for you coming on Friday night’s new episode of “Shark Tank” in Illumibowl.

We should start out by making the following rather clear: This product is, at its core, something a little quirky. It’s a nightlight for your toilet! Yet, it actually does fulfill a practical purpose. Let’s say you don’t want to get blinded when you’re going into the bathroom overnight. It has a built-in motion censor that turns on when you are near the throne, and then off when you step away. It gives you enough light to do your business, but not so much that it leaves you feeling wide awake. It also has different light settings and isn’t crazy-expensive.

Here is where things could get tricky in the Tank. Can this company really prove to the Sharks that it is worthy of some sort of great investment? Is it something more than a novelty product? At first glance, we thought that this was silly and there’d be no way that the Sharks would take a flyer on it; however, upon reflection we’ve come around a little bit to the point where we don’t think this is flushing money down the drain. If you get this on QVC or an equivalent, it can sell quickly, and it’s cheap enough to be an impulse buy.

Also, we remained convinced that people will spend money to make life around the toilet better. We all spend enough time there!
