‘America’s Got Talent,’ ‘American Ninja Warrior’ premiere dates named by NBC

The full review -

While there may not bee too much information out there just yet about “America’s Got Talent” and “American Ninja Warrior” making their big premieres over on NBC, we do have to say at the moment that we’re liking what we’re seeing here in terms of programming strategy.

Let’s start with the former show, which is being judged for the first time by none other than Simon Cowell. “America’s Got Talent” will return on Tuesday, May 31 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, and while there will once again be auditions taking place in different parts of the country, the live shows are going back to Los Angeles. The primary reason for them being at Radio City Music Hall was in order to accommodate Howard Stern, who wanted to remain in the area for his radio show. We’re not sure if Cowell has the popularity that he once did in the U.S., so this will be interesting to watch.

Meanwhile, the latest season of “American Ninja Warrior” returns the next day on June 1, also at the same time in 8:00 p.m. Eastern. We like these spots for the two shows since they steer clear of “The Bachelorette,” and also the more popular “Big Brother” eviction show that will air more than likely on Thursday nights. Sure, “Ninja Warrior” will conflict with the Wednesday “Big Brother” starting most likely in late June, but that’s not really something that you should worry about on some extreme level.

These two shows are among the reasons why NBC does so well in the summer, so we’ll just have to see if them being on the air this year produces and different results. Rest assured that there will be plenty of coverage here!
