‘Girl Meets World’ season 3: When you could see (some) resolution to Maya – Lucas – Riley story

What’s a little interesting about “Girl Meets World” at the moment is that even though the second season still has one more episode to air (“Girl Meets Legacy,” coming your way on March 11), the show is already in production for the upcoming third season. Not only that, but we know something rather-important about the story already: We’re not exactly going to get much in the way of definite resolution this season to the whole love-triangle-of-sorts with Riley, Lucas, and Maya. Maybe they’ll talk about their feelings more in the wake of Farkle blowing things up in “Girl Meets the New Year,” but there will still be some open threads.

Yesterday, the show’s official writers room tweeted that an upcoming two-part episode will help to bring you some further insight into the dynamic: “Girl Meets Triangle” and “Girl Meets Upstate.” We had heard about a ski lodge concept before, and obviously there’s enough story to tell here to make it into a two-parter.

Could we potentially see this become this season’s version of “Girl Meets Texas”? It’s possible, since both are examples of storylines that take the main characters away from their typical settings. The difference this time is that the feelings are already out there, and now the group has to try to figure them out in the midst of a metaphorical minefield known as high school.

Ultimately, expect season 3 of “Girl Meets World” to debut at some point in the spring; we’ll have some other news not too long after that.
