‘The 100’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Can Clarke figure out the one behind the plan?
Next week’s new episode of “The 100” definitely has the potential to be exciting; after all, wasn’t the episode tonight that and then some? We were assuming that Brenda Strong was going to be a big part of the story, only for the show to completely shock us by getting rid of her queen in a very short amount of time.
So where do we go from here? Well, Clarke definitely has a new mission, and in the wake of the bloodshed everything is about to become more and more tricky. You can see the full synopsis for this episode and more below:
“Clarke finds out the identity of the person behind a devious plan. Kane attempts to keep the peace.”
Here’s a quick little meta-note on the show as a whole: While the vast majority of shows on The CW tend to give you extremely long synopses, this one is remarkably short. What gives there? It’s mostly the result of this show having so much it wants to keep secret. One of the other key components in this is just the nature of the show, and the timing for when the network releases these many weeks in advance. If you look at a “Supernatural” or an “Arrow,” they at least have some procedural elements to them and villains who just pop in for an episode or at least something that can be teased in advance. This show moves at a breakneck pace, and it’s almost entirely serialized.
In other words, it’s going to be a long week trying to see what the show does next.

I think the writers really messed up here by having the Sky People knowingly elect, by a large margin, a leader who had pledged to slaughter their allies, and then followed through on it (by shooting the 300 soldiers in the back who were sent to protect them.) I mean if they really wanted the grounder army to back off all they had to do was ask.
At this point the whole lot of them are past any kind moral redemption and I’m no longer emotionally invested in anybody from the Ark (except maybe Clarke, Olivia, and Lincoln, all on the periphery the newly aligned and utterly suicidal ‘us vs them’ group.) I hope they get crushed under Lexa’s coalition’s heel and have every one of their guns and every single piece of high technology taken away. They lost the provilege by making life or death choices like children. If they’re lucky maybe Lexa will spare the old, the women, and the children, but at MINIMUM everyone who participated in the slaughter of allies should be put to death.
