‘Bones’ season 11 will return one week after ‘American Idol’ finale

Bones -For those of you who were secretly hoping that “American Idol” this season would get a last-second extension beyond its early-April finale date, we’re sure the following news will make you disappointed. Then again, it will also probably make those of you who are big-time fans of “Bones” rather happy.

Fox has announced that the eleventh season of the show will return on Thursday, April 14 at 8:00 p.m. eastern time, one week after the singing competition wraps up his current season on the air. It will be followed by “American Grit,” a new competition series hosted by WWE superstar John Cena. This premiere date does prove that Fox is committed to airing at least most of the rest of this season in the spring, though we imagine that some of it (given the timing) could carry over into the summer.

The second part of the 11th season of the show on Fox is going to revolve in part around Hodgins, who is going to be in a very harrowing situation following what happened to him in the midseason finale. His relationship with Angela will be complicated, and we imagined that the entire landscape of the Jeffersonian is going to be shifted around in some shape or form over the weeks ahead.

As for whether or not season 11 of the show will be its last, there is no official word on that just yet … but we’re taking the approach of “expect the worst, and hope that at some point a miracle is announced.”
