‘The Fosters’ season 3 spoilers: When is Rosie O’Donnell returning as Rita?
There are a wide array of reasons why we like having Rosie O’Donnell as a recurring guest star on “The Fosters.” Her work as a drama actress is often underrated in some ways, and at the same time, she also fits the show well given that she has adopted and understands the source material perhaps better than many others would. She understands some of the stories, and her character Rita is responsible for caring for more than a few people at Girls United.
While it’s possible in theory that you could see Rosie back on the Freeform series before the February 22 episode entitled “Minor Offenses,” we can officially confirm that this is where you are going to see her next. The synopsis below offers up a little more intel on the story:
“When Stef and Lena discover Callie wants to film an endorsement supporting a new foster care reform bill, they express concern, prompting Callie to seek out Rita (guest star Rosie O’Donnell) for support. Hoping to impress Mariana, Nick turns to Jesus for advice on planning their first date. Meanwhile, Stef recovers from a medical procedure.”
We do expect there to be some interesting ramifications from some of these stories, though to be clear some have greater stakes than others. For example, we’re not sure that Nick wanting a good date is as important as Callie’s future with the Fost-and-Found app, or Stef getting a procedure done that will ensure that she can live a better life for many years to come without worrying as much about cancer.
