‘Dancing with the Stars 22’: Jodie Sweetin of ‘Fuller House’ first star reportedly on board

dwtsThe 22nd season of “Dancing with the Stars” is not going to premiere until March 21, but is it possible that we now have the first confirmed participant? It certainly is starting to seem that way.

As first reported by Us Weekly, “Fuller House” star Jodie Sweetin is going to be in the ballroom for the new season, and it certainly seems like right casting when you think about it for a second. Her co-star Candace Cameron Bure has already done the series, and season 1 of “Fuller House” will already be done with filming. Even if it were not, we could still see scenarios that she could do it given how Bure balanced her time this season between working on the Netflix comedy and “The View.”

If this casting sticks, at least “Dancing” will have someone currently on scripted TV on the show this season. The challenge comes in trying to figure out who else is right. We imagine they will get one or two familiar names from reality TV, and then also someone from social media, a famous singer, a couple of athletes, and then someone who comes as a complete surprise to just about everyone. Personally, we wouldn’t be shocked if they go after one of the Presidential candidates after they drop out of the race, provided they don’t have a position somewhere else.

Given that this is still very early in the casting process, we definitely imagine that we’ll have some other news all about the return of the show soon. Stay tuned…
