‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: Emily Wickersham hints at Bishop’s future
The end of “NCIS” season 13 certainly created a situation for Ellie Bishop where her life was never going to be the same again. Things just were not working for her and Jake any longer, and as a result of that, the two parties are in the midst of a divorce.
Of course, this means in theory that Bishop could go out and considering having some sort of new relationship if she chose to … but that seems unlikely. For some further evidence of this, just take a look at what Emily Wickersham had to say in a new interview with TV Guide:
“I think she’s going to be really involved in her work for the rest of the season … I would imagine that she would take a little bit of time to herself, to really take a moment, think about that relationship. Relationships are hard, and I think that being alone for periods of time is important, to learn things about yourself. I think that’s what Bishop will have to do.”
Ultimately, there are many different reasons to put the Bishop relationship on hold for the time being, with the biggest one being mostly that there will be more than likely a season 13 to further tell her story. With Michael Weatherly leaving at the end of this season, we figure that for the most part we’re going to see more stories geared around Tony DiNozzo than any other character for at least the time being. We’ll have to see now if this prediction turns out to be true.

IMO the current ptb – Glasberg and other producers who created and cast the Ellie Bishop character have a vested interest in convincing themselves that they did a great job with their choice so they continue to push her to the front in the hopes that she’ll catch on. I don’t have anything against the actress but they haven’t made me care about her character. It’s the same with Gibbs. I’m tired of these two getting all the dramatic stories. I’m literally sick of Gibbs. I have no intention of watching the show to see another season of the tragedies and angst of Gibbs and Bishop show. I’m angry that Michael Weatherly was shoved to the back many years ago and has been treated like a marginal character ever since. They blew it losing him. I can’t really imagine anything less dull than a DiNozzoless NCIS.

This article is about Ellie Bishop. Not about Gibbs. He wasn’t even mentioned in the article. But of course you can’t stay on the topic and have to drag him into this as well. And again: It doesn’t seem that Weatherly himself was so unhappy because he hadn’t even tried to change anything.

How exactly do you know that Weatherly didn’t try to change anything? Perhaps he doesn’t have as much sway as certain other actors. How do you know he wasn’t unhappy? He is after all leaving. The reason I “drug Gibbs in” was because along with Bishop, he gets all the arcs and big stories. It’s as if no one else is allowed to shine. Especially Weatherly.

If he was oh so unhappy then why has he always been so excited? And again, it was stated by multiple actors of the show that EVERY actor has the opportunity to be involved in the storylines regarding their own characters if they wish. You just can’t seem to understand that Michael doesn’t need to be the Center of his fans attention in order to give a great performance and shine. You obviously can only see his talent when he’s highlighted. That’s very sad for someone who claims to be his fan.

You are quite wrong on many of your assumptions. IMO Weatherly has always been a team player and a generally very positive person and so promoted the show in typical Weatherly fashion (positive) when asked to do so. I hardly think that MW has a need to be the center of attention (unlike certain other actors who, while playing the modest non ambitious Mr. Humble publicly always, by some incredibly consistent series of miracles, manages to be front and center). IMO Weatherly’s natural charisma has certainly made the crap writing he’s received far more palatable although there have been some instances that were either so demeaning or just so boring that even the most accomplished actor couldn’t do much. I totally credit MW for making the mostly horrid writing bearable but really some of it was just impossible.

Well, that is how you act about Cote de Pablo. As you point at sadtonyfan, three fingers and a thumb point back at you.

And there you are wrong: I don’t Cote. No matter how hard you try to make me look like an hater, I’m not. I actually used to like her. Now? I just don’t care about her anymore. I’m disappointed by her behavior but that doesn’t make me hate her. Sorry to break that to you.

But 11 days ago, you brought Ziva up. No one was talking about Ziva. Here is the quote, “But it was ok for Michael’s character to be pushed back and used to turn NCIS into the Ziva show?” It sure looks to me that you have Ziva (Cote) on your mind. By the way, what kind of a winter are you having in Europe?

And? People bring her up all the time but if I do it’s a crime? Got it.
Good winter here. No snow anymore. Hope that answered your question.

Why are they wasting time on this marginal character when the clock is ticking for Michael Weatherly? It’s turned into the Bishop show.

Where in my comment do you see anything about Ziva? If you are interested in an argument go find someone else. Sheesh!

Didn’t try to start an argument. Just stating that Tony has been poorly treated when Ziva was there and it has nothing to do with Bishop.

I would really like to know why CBS and Harmon insist on making this disliked character played by a talent free actress the star of their former flagship show!

Yep blame Harmon for her being there. God. He did not cast her. He did not hire her. Of course she’s supportive of her. But people like you don’t seem to get that.
