ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: Olivia Pope, six months later

Are you ready to get more of “Scandal” on ABC once more? It’s been a long wait, but there is quite a bit to look forward to and then some from the show’s return. We’re jumping forward several months into the future, and getting a chance to see more of what made the show so amazing in the first place: Olivia Pope teaming with her Gladiators in an effort to solve some problems that are at the heart of Washington DC.

This first episode is entitled “It’s Hard Out Here for a General,”and the synopsis below makes it very clear what you can expect:

“It’s been six months since Olivia and Fitz have broken up, and they are both handling their newfound freedom in very different ways. Meanwhile, the Pope and Associates team take on a case that could lead to a national crisis.”

This episode will certainly have at least in part an old-school feel, but the question that you have to ask yourself primarily for now is if it is going to be possible to see Olivia Pope and Fitzgerald Grant actually apart from each other forever. They may have loved each other, but it clearly did not work. As a matter of fact, it ended in disaster, an abortion, and in a number of shouting matches. We at least know from the promos that are out there already that at one point, Kerry Washington’s character is going to make a phone call; what is the subject of this said call is what remains to be seen.
