‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: An interesting Laurel tease via Katie Cassidy
We are now just about into the second half of “Arrow” season 4, and we are still intensely curious about the future of the Laurel Lance character. She is someone who has only improved as the show has gone on, and she’s also someone who deserves at times more story than what she gets.
So how much more are we going to see from her in the weeks to come? Obviously we’ll see her continue to don the costume and kick a lot of butt as a result of that, but we’re also going to get some other facets of who she is, which should make for some interesting television in its own way. Here is what Katie Cassidy had to say on the subject of what could lie ahead for her character in a new interview with ComicBook.com:
“Well, the thing that I thought was so great about this year, and continue to do so, is that we see Laurel a lot stronger, and along with fighting when she goes out there as the Black Canary, we see her more polished, we see her more … professional … She’s in training, and fighting. I feel as if she’s become a lot stronger emotionally as well. I think that continues to go that direction. I feel like she’s the backbone for a lot of these characters, and she tries to see the best in people, and she is a strong woman, and I love that. I think that we continue to see more of that. I think you’ll see someone come along who you don’t necessarily expect Laurel to embrace, and she does. Having said that, that’s all I can [say].”
Laurel’s a character in an interesting place now, given that her father is in the process of battling Damien Darhk in his own way, and her sister is now off saving the world on “Legends of Tomorrow.” She’s got a lot of moving parts in her life, and has to find a way to remain grounded and figure out where she stands.
