‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 27 reaction: The value of money
Given that Friday night’s new episode of “Girl Meets World” was entitled “Girl Meets Money,” it only made sense that we spent a lot of time talking about giving back, helping others, and how sometimes, having a lot of cash did not really mean that you were happy.
For Farkle and his father Minkus, they spent part of this episode wondering if they were about to lose everything. What would have happened to them if they did? Was there a way for them to move forward? These were both questions that they were forced to ask, and by the end of the half-hour we had answers courtesy of a new foundation Minkus started to help care more for those who need it. This also helped Farkle feel a little less bad for having a ridiculous apartment and all of the money he could possibly want. Really, he didn’t understand what it was like to live without it, but understood that there were benefits to it still.
As for the cameo by Mark Cuban near the end, we enjoyed that he was willing to have a little fun with his image. Plus, his comic timing wasn’t too bad! Many of the humor in this episode came from either the Cuban scene or some of the antics from Maya at Farkle’s place, which included her riding around on a train.
Did we have our frustrations regarding the episode? Sure, since there’s still no mention of the primary romance plot, and we wish there was more resolution on Auggie’s investigation on Cory and Topanga’s money issues. These are always interesting to explore in a sitcom format.
