‘Teen Wolf’ season 5, episode 13 review: Theo’s Deucalion plan; Scott, Kira’s reunion

Teen wolf -Let us begin this particular “Teen Wolf” season 5 review with the simple act of giving credit. Sometimes, we tend to overlook the show thanks to it airing on MTV, thanks to the amount of time people are shirtless during it, or simply thanks to how the show has the perception of being “young.”

What they did Tuesday night was pretty great, looping in several storylines from past seasons while making them relevant to what is going on right now: Namely, The Beast of Gévaudan, who is tearing through Beacon Hills and could be walking around the school during the daytime. Theo has decided that in his own little jealous fit about not being the true alpha he’s decided to be, apparently Deucalion a.k.a. Awesome Demon Wolf could help him. Good luck with that.

Also, tonight marked the return of the Oni, which nearly conquered Kira as the Skinwalkers decided to put her to the test in the middle of the desert. Even though she was victorious, they obviously didn’t see it that way and gave the credit to the fox instead. Therefore, it took her mom going complete killing machine over all of them for Kira to make it out alive … and for her to be reunited with Scott, who clearly made it clear to her just how much she was missed.

In the midst of this madness, tonight also brought us Malia beating up Theo for information on controlling the Dread Doctors, the Doctors potentially controlling the Beast in some way, and Mason and Corey coming together at a time that is very helpful for some of the other characters. This episode had probably more going on than any other in recent memory, and most of it was enjoyable. Sure, we have a harder time with each passing week buying these characters in high school, but sometimes you have to take your lumps there and suspend belief. Grade: B.
