‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 8, episode 12 review: Kim Fields vs. Kenya Moore (across many planes)
Last time on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” we saw the return of Nene Leakes (at least for the last 5 minutes of the episode) and while it was great to see her come back for a visit, she really didn’t add much to the over all episode. We like Nene, but we have also liked this season of the show without her – she doesn’t make or break the show for us. Kim Fields has been a nice addition to the group, but it looks like she’s going to be ruffling some feathers tonight.
Was there any reason for said feathers to be ruffled? Not exactly, mostly because of the fact that Kenya Moore ultimately made a mountain of of a molehill. Kim had decided to throw a brunch for the women celebrating their “natural beauty,” which not everyone loved. As a matter of fact, Kenya objected to the notion that they needed to do this, saying that she felt comfortable with makeup and felt like Kim was making some sort of commentary on the amount of makeup she regularly wore.
Kenya later upset Cynthia Bailey for not attending an event for her new line, but at the same time Kim was impressive. She worked hard and was there … but for some reason, Cynthia still wanted Kenya aboard for the commercial. Do you think that all of this will go well? We have a hard time feeling like it will, mostly because Kim doesn’t even want to have her around.
Elsewhere in this episode, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker prepared for their new addition, while Phaedra Parks was preparing herself for the idea of her kids being in more communication with Apollo while he was behind bars. These stories were in some ways more interesting than makeup-gate, but this is just what we happened to get this week for the most part. Consider this hardly the most important episode of the season. Episode grade: B-.
