‘Chicago Fire’ season 4: Steven R. McQueen now a series regular
We imagine that many who watched “Chicago Fire” over time likely saw this promotion coming, and we are glad to say today that, per SpoilerTV, Steven R. McQueen is now a series regular.
It is not entirely clear just when the promotion took place, but we have gotten the sense for some time that producers have been extremely happy with much of what they have been getting out of the “Vampire Diaries” alum as new Firehouse 51 addition Jimmy. He’s enthusiastic, has many layers, and has an inherent want to impress people. He’s also someone very easy to root for, and you always want that sort of energy in a firehouse.
Of course, our largest question for “Chicago Fire” is mostly how they can continue to balance stories with so many people given that you’re dealing with such a large cast here. Granted, the other two “Chicago” series are currently handling the same exact thing. Somehow, the show finds a way to make things work, and you are even going to see McQueen in an upcoming crossover episode of “Chicago PD,” as well.
There’s one interesting coincidence with the timing of this news. We’re hearing about McQueen’s promotion around the same time that TNT has formally decided not to push forward with their adaptation of “Titans.” Dick Grayson / Nightwing is a character that McQueen had previously lobbied to play for a rather long time. As mentioned, though, we don’t think there is really any connection between that news and what is going on over at “Chicago Fire.”
