‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9 spoilers: Jane Kaczmarek set to guest star

There’s a clash of the titans coming on “The Big Bang Theory,” at least when you think about how the biggest sitcom running today is getting a visit from one of the stars of another show that should be in the conversation for one of the funniest comedies of the past several decades. Jane Kaczmarek of “Malcolm in the Middle” fame is going to be guest-starring on Thursday night’s new episode, and based on the preview below, she is going to be offering up some support to both Leonard and Penny.

It has been a little while since the two characters have been the spotlight of an episode, and it makes sense for now to be the time. With Sheldon and Amy sleeping together for the first time their relationship can take a little bit more of a back seat, and we can explore some of how Leonard and Penny are feeling about being married, and yet still having someone like Sheldon still living with him. It’s an ongoing problem with the series; it makes no sense whatsoever for two married people to have a guy living with them financially capable of caring for himself. Yet, there’s probably a resistance to move far away from the show’s central idea.

Interestingly, CBS has yet to officially release a synopsis for this episode or any details on the guest cast. They’re off for the holiday weekend, so maybe that will come early in the week. For now, just know that this is an episode we’re looking further to covering further over the course of the next several days!
