‘American Idol’ season 15 video: Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr. tackle a TV theme song!

The final season of “American Idol” will begin in grand fashion with a two-night premiere on January 6, but before we get around to that, why not enjoy one of the sillier sneak peeks we’ve had a chance to bring to the table?

The video below is mostly a reminder that after three years of working together on the judging panel, there is more chemistry than ever before between Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez, and Keith Urban at the panel. They all seem to get along really well, and can bust out into some moments of goofiness in a split second. Case in point: Watching the three perform the iconic theme song for “Laverne & Shirley.” Granted, this is really more like watching Keith and J.Lo perform the song since Harry doesn’t seem to know the words to it. He serves more as percussion.

What we’ve learned from this is that these judges are clearly big fans of nostalgia. Not only that, but “Laverne & Shirley” may have been a big thing back in Urban’s Australia home when the series was on the air so many years ago.

Eventually we do plan on profiling more of the contestants (that is what we are mostly watching the show for at this point), but we imagine that we’ll be able to do that a little bit more once we get closer to the premiere. To date, Fox really has not made an extreme effort to put many of these people in the spotlight, though we imagine that could change in the near future.
