‘Elementary’ season 4, episode 7 preview: Watson becomes an unexpected inspiration

Holmes -Did you enjoy the winter finale of “Elementary” on CBS Thursday night? We hope so, given that there is not going to be any more new episodes of the show airing until January 7.

The next new episode of the show is entitled “Miss Taken,” and based on the synopsis below there could be some family tension for Joan Watson when it comes to how her dirty laundry, or at least work based on her dirty laundry is being aired out publicly. It’s like “Castle,” with the main difference being that rather than her partner / potential love interest being behind the literature, it is none other than her stepfather.

For more, just be sure to check out the official synopsis:

“When Watson’s stepfather (John Heard) writes a crime novel based on her work with Holmes without her knowledge, an underlying issue in their relationship is revealed.  Also, as Holmes and Watson investigate a retired FBI agent’s murder, they discover the man’s death is connected to an unsolved case from the victim’s career.”

We really dig the idea of this case in theory, and hopefully this can be the sort of thing that hooks people into the show in the new year. So far, “Elementary” has not been giving a fair shake in the fall of 2015. It’s been forced to air against NFL football in many cases, and it’s often been preempted in select markets. In turn, the ratings have been worse than usual as a result. It’ll be nice to see how it fares without having to deal with that.
