‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 spoilers: Is Natalie Dormer getting new scene partner?

It’s always nice to see different characters interact on “Game of Thrones.” Take a look at Jon Snow and Ygritte, Arya and the Hound, Jaime Lannister and Brienne, or Tyrion and Dany. All of these relationships had their own charm and meaning, and they all brought different dynamics to the series.

Now, should we suspect something similar coming with Margaery Tyrell on season 6? It certainly seems that way, based on what Natalie Dormer had to tease about her storyline in a new interview with Time Magazine:

“The beauty of Game of Thrones is it’s always making these unlikely pairings from one season to the next. We all, season to season, get thrown in with a new sparring partner. And I’ve actually had a new sparring partner this season because Margaery is in jail and Cersei, obviously, after the walk of shame got back into the Keep.”

It’s almost useless to try and guess who it could be, especially since it it could be a completely new arrival to King’s Landing. It is interesting one way or another to see the shrewd Queen be tested in new ways, though we also admit that it would be interesting to see her find true love in some way, as well. Just remember here that first, she was with Renly, and then she moved on from there to Joffrey and Tommen. None of these people are who you would consider to be an ideal romantic partner for her.

Season 6 of the series will premiere at some point this spring on HBO, and who knows? Maybe a future trailer or promotional photos will tease more about the Margaery storyline. Let’s just hope that it ends with her being treated better than Cersei was at the end of her High Sparrow story.
