‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Will Jackie Dion, Ben Higgins find common ground?
Part of what is interesting about doing these “Bachelor” spotlight articles is trying to figure out where someone could align in the life of someone else. For Jackie Dion as a contestant on “The Bachelor,” we see right away a few reasons why she could work for Ben Higgins. She is someone who seemingly loves to travel and care for other people, and that also seems right up this alley. This could just be a case where it all comes down to whether or not there is that chemistry that clicks in the end.

Age – 23
Occupation – Gerontologist. In other words, she helps to care for the elderly.
Hometown – San Francisco, California. However, Jackie also claims that she grew up in Southern California, and she went to college at USC. Therefore, she’s done some traveling all over the state.
Things to know – She was a track star in school, she does like to do some adventurous things (she went paragliding with her father once), and she also was recognized in school for many of her efforts giving back to her community.
Strengths – In case you hadn’t heard, charity is also something that is close to Ben’s heart. These two have an almost-instant common bond there, and everything from her bio suggests that she is a pretty nice, caring person who probably does want some sort of romance out of this. There are no early alarm signs.
Problem areas – Is she exciting enough? Other than paragliding we don’t really get much through this bio that makes her particularly notable, and we also just wonder whether or not she can take on some of the chaos of this show. She seems like someone who tries to be helpful and find the good in people, and not everyone here is going to be anywhere near as kind.
Prediction – Jackie is one of those people who we could either see leaving the first night after failing to make an immediate impression, or going really far. This one is a complete toss-up, but the last thing we expect her to be is someone production wants there for drama.
