‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 25 reaction: Farkle’s statement changes Riley, Lucas, and Maya’s relationship

The second season of “Girl Meets World” has taken you on quite a magical mystery tour when it comes to the romantic lives of many of the show’s characters, and it definitely did that all over again tonight with the characters of Maya, Lucas, and Riley. After it started to look like the path was clear for Lucas and Maya to be together, Farkle completely blew up Riley’s spot!

Right before we arrived to midnight, he made the decision to proclaim that Riley still has feelings for Lucas, even though she previously had denied this. Was this the right thing for him to do? He seems to think that it was, while it certainly seems as though Riley feels the exact opposite. She probably thinks that this was her secret to tell, and he came in and ruined it for her. Maybe he thought that if he said nothing, she would never be able to get the courage to on her own.

Thanks to this admission (which came, by the way, after Charlie was out of the picture), this episode ended on a rather awkward note. Now, Maya and Riley have to figure out where their friendship stands once more, and Lucas also has to make a decision of his own. There have been times that he’s leaned more towards Riley romantically, but we’ve also seen some of those sparks there with Maya.

There is one thing that we’ll say in the end about these characters: Who imagined that we would all get this invested in a love triangle before the season started? Also, didn’t we think we’d be upset if there were many episodes without “Boy Meets World” nostalgia in them?
