‘Elementary’ season 4 spoilers: Is conflict ahead for Sherlock, Alfredo?

ElementaryWant to talk about things that make little sense? Then we suggest you take a look at the fact that “Elementary” aired a new episode on Thanksgiving (generally a terrible night of the year for new programming), but for some reason is not going to be airing one on Thursday night. It seems odd, but there are some legitimate reasons for it. CBS is airing an NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions on Thursday, so their regular lineup is popping off the air for a week.

When the Jonny Lee Miller show does return on December 10, it will be doing so with an episode in “The Games Underfoot” that gives you some more information regarding the dynamic between Alfredo and Sherlock following everything that they went through at the end of last season. The synopsis below gives you some more information on that, and then also your typical case of the week:

“When an archeologist is murdered, Holmes and Watson believe the man may have been killed for what he discovered during his last excavation in a local landfill. Also, Sherlock’s relationship with Alfredo, his friend and former sobriety sponsor, hits a rough patch.”

While this is certainly not the most buzz-worthy description for a story that we’ve ever seen, we’re happy that there’s an Alfredo story coming up! We just hope that at some point during season 4 the show can switch it up and get into a deep, multi-layered case that may take more than just a couple of episodes to resolve. We know everyone involved is capable of tackling the material; it may be more of an issue of the format more than anything else.
