‘Supergirl’ season 7 preview: Can Kara get her powers back?
On next week’s all-new episode of “Supergirl,” we are going to see what is effectively yet another superhero TV trope: The classic case of a character losing their powers for a short period of time. This is something that “The Flash” has already done, as have many other shows before it.
So why dip back into this well so often? The only qualified answer we can give you as a response to this is that it is a way to bring a character back to normalcy, and force them to focus a little bit more on what they can do without superpowers to go along with what they can do with them. “Human for a Day” is the title for this episode, and you can see the synopsis below:
“Kara and her friends must rely on their inner strength and courage when an earthquake strikes National City. Also, Alex’s mistrust of Hank reaches a breaking point when the earthquake traps them in the DEO with Jemm (Charles Halford), a powerful alien escapee.”
Given that Kara at one point does still don the famed Supergirl costume, don’t we have to take this as some sort of a sign that the show will bring her back to her sold self by the end of the hour? It’s either that or this is just a red herring meant to keep you on your toes. Maybe she is pretending to have her powers back for the sake of a mission?
