‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 8 video: Deeper look at ‘Legends of Today’

There are many reasons to be excited about the upcoming crossover event between “Arrow” and “The Flash” on Tuesday, but it starts in part with this: Hawkman and Hawkgirl! The two are among the most-popular characters within the DC Universe, but have been extremely under-represented on television until now.

The sneak peek below comes from Tuesday night’s “Legends of Today,” and it features none other than Hawkman having to explain to his longtime lover-of-many-generations that she is not just Central City barista Kendra Saunders. She is someone with a rich history and is destined to do battle once more with Vandal Savage. According to Hawkman, they have waged war more than 200 times, with Vandal winning each time.

So what makes this particular occasion any different? It really could be so simple as the fact that this time around the two heroes have some help. The Green Arrow and The Flash are now on their side, and the same goes for some of the other characters who will someday populate “Legends of Tomorrow.” Given that Savage gets his strength from defeating his foes, this is one of those occasions where time really is of the essence.

For those of you who are viewers strictly of “The Flash,” you are going to want to watch “Arrow” this week in order to get the conclusion to this story. We’re sure it will be awesome for one, but no doubt there is that extra bit of motivation in here for the network to generate the biggest ratings possible for this event following a week off the air.
