‘Girl Meets World’ star Sabrina Carpenter to perform National Anthem at Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day game
There are a few TV traditions that are simply synonymous with Thanksgiving, and the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys taking part in NFL games is one of them. Given that these are such big events, they are always able to book some popular names to come and sing the National Anthem at both games.
Today for the Lions’ showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles, it has been confirmed that you are going to get a performance by “Girl Meets World” star Sabrina Carpenter, who is also an accomplished singer. It’s a great opportunity for her, given that this is the sort of gig that will get you national attention in just a matter of minutes. Granted, it’s also one of the most imposing songs that you can possibly perform, but if you are going to be having a career in music, you really have to be prepared to handle some of these heavily-scrutinized gigs.
Carpenter’s appearance comes at a time when “Girl Meets World” is on a little bit of a holiday hiatus. There will be some more new episodes coming up both later this year and in 2016, but for the time being, the Disney Channel is prioritizing some other things. Plus, it doesn’t make a lot of sense of the network to air installments at a time in Thanksgiving Week where the majority of people are either traveling or shopping.
We will have some more news related to Thanksgiving TV headlines soon; stay tuned!
