‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 22: Len Goodman to return!

Dancing -

We already knew that “Dancing with the Stars” was going to be coming back for a 22nd season in March, but during the season 21 finale on Tuesday night, we also learned some other welcome news: A very famous judge will be joining them!

Len Goodman confirmed in a video message during the finale show that he will be returning to America after spending this season overseas to focus on “Strictly Come Dancing.” There had been talk that his exit from the show may not be permanent, but we were not sure if anything would change after spending the full fall in the United Kingdom. Len does not have a season to judge in the spring, and that clears up his schedule.

In terms of adding a certain quality to the show, we love Len. He’s honest, and he is also great at being the resident curmudgeon who is never afraid to give bold, brash opinions … even to the frustration of some of the pros in the competition. Yet, even when they disagree, there is a certain amount of respect that is present that makes it clear that the ill will continue after the show. Len’s a legend at what he does, and he knows his stuff.

Are for judges a lot for a two-hour show once a week? Sure, but that is probably the only major knock that we have on the format. Of course, we’re going to have so many more updates on the upcoming season as we find out more.
