Is ‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 9 new tonight on ABC? Plus, news on midseason finale

Let us start this article with what is the very bad news for any fan of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD.” There is no new episode airing on ABC Tuesday night. When you think about it, it is fairly easy to understand why. This is a time of the year when there are so many other distractions and options out there for families, and we imagine that for many out there (prepare to gasp), watching television is not at the top of the priority list.

New episodes of the drama are going to pick up once again on December 1, and there are two more stories still to be told before we go on hiatus until March. Based on some of what is being reported out there at the moment, are indications are that we should prepare ourselves for some of the most shocking events that we have seen in some time, at least since what happened to Skye that put her on the path to becoming Daisy Johnson.

As for some other news to tide you over, how about the synopsis for the midseason finale? “Maveth” is the title for this particular December 8 installment, and just as you would figure given recent events, SHIELD and Hydra are about to go head-to-head in dramatic fashion:

“S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra go head-to-head in a battle that will change Coulson’s world forever. While Daisy and her team of Inhumans fight to keep Hydra at bay, Coulson and Fitz take the ultimate risk.”
