‘The X Factor’ UK rumors: The latest ‘fix’ nonsense and more

X Factor -We’re back with another edition of our recurring series “let’s make fun of British tabloid rumors,” where we really do just that following all of the nonsense that they continue to spout about anything and everything.

Today, the primary subject here is on the British version of “The X Factor,” and the rumors that Simon Cowell allegedly told the other judges to vote to keep Che Chesterman, sending his own act Anton Stephans home from the competition. There’s no definite proof for one that this is what he was doing, so the idea of Simon throwing his own contestant under the bus is a little bit strange in itself.

Now to go along with that, there are a myriad of other problems with this. Yes, we know that Simon is the primary boss of the show in many ways, but he does not control the opinions of what everyone else is going to do. Nick Grimshaw, Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini, and Rita Ora all have minds of their own and they will make the decision that they feel is right for the competition. They are not going to just bow at the feet of whatever Cowell wants.

Also, it just makes more sense to save Che. This was his first time in the bottom, he performed early in the show, and he has more potential to turn it around. Anton had already been in danger before, and many found the argument between him and Nick relatively off-putting.

In the end, it makes sense for this conclusion to happen, and we will continue to say that the show is not rigged, fixed, or anything else. The only thing that we’d claim as a conspiracy theory here is that sometimes, they do place contestants in certain spots where they have a better likelihood of being remembered. For example, Louisa Johnson has received favorable positioning in many shows, while Mason Noise was often saddled performing early in the show.
