‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ week 10 rankings: Bindi Irwin, Nick Carter, and more competition

Nick -To say this has been a strange week for “Dancing with the Stars” would be an understatement. Thanks to a combination of Tamar Braxton’s exit from the show and timing, we are now entering the penultimate week in the competition with just four celebrities remaining. If we were to guess, we would say that there will be elimination and we will enter the finale with the same number of participants. Then again, who knows? This season has been very on-the-fly, and that could continue.

For now, all we can do is present the rankings for the final four as we have them, based on performance quality, scores, edit, and perceived public support.

4. Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold (last week: 6) – Remember when it looked like Alek was in danger of going home entering the last episode? Well, he now has a chance at making it to the finale. We still think that his odds of making it to the final week are slim based on scores, but he is likable and a hero; these are two things that always boost someone’s odds.

3. Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson (4) – Carlos is in what we’d call now an interesting place. While there’s a part of us that wouldn’t be shocked if he is eliminated next, there is also a part of us that feels almost like Alexa’s elimination could help him. If some of her fans decide to vote for him now, there could be a similar situation back to when Meryl Davis won the show.

2. Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough (2) – This was probably the closest we’ve come to swapping out Bindi and Nick all season long. We sense that there is an undercurrent of support at this point for Bindi, who seems to be so strong and positive and fun on the dance floor. Also, Derek has his fair share of fans.

1. Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess (1) – The main reason we’re keeping Nick #1 for the time being is simply still the name recognition. Nobody has a wider footprint on social media, and he is just so well-known that we still feel this will be a hard thing for anyone else to overcome. Given that they’ve both been consistently great all season,
