‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: Jared Padalecki entertains idea of monster team-up

Supernatural -

There is nothing like going through terrible times to unify groups of people, even in the most extreme situations. Who knows? Maybe this is the sort of thing that could put monsters, demons, angels, and everything in between on the same page for “Supernatural” season 11.

As of right now, it’s not happening, but Entertainment Weekly recently posed the rather-entertaining question on the subject to star Jared Padalecki. Let’s just say that his response is rather enlightening as to how this idea could be really awesome as the group battles the Darkness:

“We haven’t explored that too much yet … It was like a tagline for Independence Day or something, but it was like ‘When aliens invade is the day racism ends,’ so maybe this is sort of the same thing, like now that the Darkness is here, monsters and demons and angels and humans can at least find a common enemy, because we’re all scared of it. We’re all scared of what it could entail.

We would totally be down for this idea, mostly because we are for the most part always down for scenarios that put the Winchesters into situations that they are not often in. Having to start to learn and trust the very thing that they are fighting against commonly could be interesting.

Do we think that such a move would actually happen, given the nature and the narrative of this show? It’s hard to say, since so many of the monsters are often feral and haven’t shown the sort of capacity to make these sort of primal decisions.
