‘Dancing with the Stars’ 21: Did producers consider bringing Alexa PenaVega back?
Suffice it to say, the producers of “Dancing with the Stars” were thrown through a loop much in the same way that everyone else was when the news came down that Tamar Braxton needed to withdraw from the competition for health reasons. She was considered by many to be a favorite, and to see her not there for this particular reason will be saddening moving forward.
It is also understandable to be sad for Alexa PenaVega given the timing of it all. Had Braxton learned the news prior to the show on Monday, she would have left and Alexa would still be there. However, the way it all worked out left producers with no choice but to enter next week with just Alexa’s husband Carlos, Alek Skarlatos, Bindi Irwin, and Nick Carter still in the cast. According to People Magazine the idea of bringing the former “Spy Kids” star back was at least considered, but we feel like it would’ve been far too complicated thanks to votes already being calculated for everyone else.
What we can tell you about the theme for next week, at least for now, is that the remaining dancers will do a routine that they have not performed, and then also also a trio featuring an additional pro who has been a part of the season in some shape or form already.
As for how they will fill up some time that was left by Tamar’s sudden departure, the show will also air some more face-off dancers. That means more work for the Stars this coming week, but given that they have made it this far into the season, odds are that they can probably handle it find.
