‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: Are Fitz and Simmons getting closer?
Are we now mere minutes away from the big FitzSimmons reveal that everyone on “Agents of SHIELD” is hoping for? Based on the image below (courtesy of Entertainment Weekly), it certainly appears as though these two characters are finally going to have a moment that brings their relationship closer to romantic than it has ever been before.
To go along with the photo, executive producer Jed Whedon had the following to say to the website:
“Their relationship will visibly change forever … Their chemistry is something that was conceived, in creating the characters, as two people who are inseparable. We talked about many different versions of that before casting it — they’re like brother and sister who are always bickering and they complete each other’s sentences, drive each other crazy and are totally co-dependent.”
Is there a question that you still should be wondering about when it comes to these two? We still wonder what the story with Will and the other world will mean if these two do start to get closer together. Also, will things change for them in the workplace? With these two, we don’t really think so given the fact that Fitz has clearly loved Jemma for some time, and therefore has always protected her like it is the most important thing in his life.
If these two characters are going to be getting together, the great thing will be that the show can move on to other subjects, and show these two in another phase of their lives. Also, isn’t it nice to see one relationship in good standing given how much Coulson is going to be shattered by Rosalind?

Dear lord I hope so, but given how the Whedon family loves to yank the rug out from under us, I’m expecting this to just muddy the waters further.
