‘Arrow’ season 4, episode 6 preview: The quest to save Ray Palmer

Ray -

For everyone who was wondering just when we were going to see Ray Palmer truly become the Atom as we know him in the comics, good news: That’s happening on Wednesday night’s new episode of “Arrow.”

Unfortunately for him, that may be the only bit of good news we can offer the character at the moment, as he is clearly in a rather bad place and then some for a variety of different reasons. First and foremost, let’s start with the fact that he is seemingly a couple of inches tall. While we imagine that there are occasions where this is a useful power, it’s not the sort of thing that comes in handy when facing bad guys like Damien Darhk. That is who seems to now have Ray hostage.

The only solace we can offer Atom fans is that he is clearly going to have a main role in the upcoming “Legends of Tomorrow,” so there is a zero percent chance that anything actually terrible is going to happen to him. He will still be alive, so hopefully at some point in the interim he can figure out how to use and channel some of these powers. We really cannot imagine that it is going to be that easy to figure out.

Given that we are not that far away from the crossover episode with “The Flash” that helps to set up “Legends,” we don’t imagine we’re really going to see too much of Ray in Star City this season. He’s probably going to jump over to that show sooner rather than later.
