‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: Jensen Ackles explains Sam’s visions, Dean’s reactions

It wouldn’t be “Supernatural” without something strange happening to at least one of the Winchester brothers, so it is certainly rather hard to be surprised about the fact that we have a storyline this season regarding Sam having visions. This is something that we’ve really just gotten a small dose of so far in the grand scheme of things. More will be coming the rest of the way this season, and it will be interesting to see how they play out in the larger story of the show.

Someone who obviously knows the trajectory very well at this point is star Jensen Ackles, who has been filming aplenty with Jared Padalecki as the story of these visions comes more to light. Speaking to TVLine, Jensen makes it clear that we will see Sam “trying to figure out who’s talking to him and what they mean … So he takes it upon himself to go there without Dean, and it leaves me in the dust. Then, of course, Dean has to follow, [which leads to] some interesting alliances.”

Ultimately, there will be probably some good stuff that comes out of this in due time, much to the surprise of no one given that there always seems to be something unexpected that happens as a result of a story on this show, even one that is starting out with something as outlandish as visions in the first place.

Then again, in comparing this particular event to some of what we’ve seen over the past decade-plus, are visions really that outlandish a concept at all? Hardly.
