‘Arrow’ season 4, episode 5 spoilers: Show boss on differing reactions to Constantine

In just over one day from now, “Arrow” will be giving us what has to be one of their most-hyped stories in quite some time: The arrival of John Constantine for “Haunted.” It’s only a one-off appearance for now from the character, but he comes with a very specific goal in mind: Figuring out how to restore Sara Lance to the person she once was. John is specifically well-equipped to handle these sort of situations in a way that nobody else on Team Arrow really is.

So how will some of these people handle seeing someone like him in the mix? As you would probably expect, there are going to be a wide array of reactions, but a positive one for the most part from Oliver Queen. In speaking on this subject to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Wendy Mericle had the following to say:

“Oliver’s very welcoming. [Oliver has] a deep well of experience with things that don’t make sense and science can’t explain, so he’s very open to the idea.”

As for Laurel and Diggle, it seems like for the most part they will be fine with John showing up … with the latter being a little more hesitant to buy into what he is seeing, as almost any person would be in his situation:

“Laurel just wants her sister back, so she’s willing to do whatever it takes, and Diggle will be, not a skeptic, but certainly maybe not as welcoming as Oliver might be.”

In the end, we have to assume that Constantine will be successful given that Sara is a part of the upcoming “Legends of Tomorrow.” The only real mystery we imagine there being here is whether or not there will be any after-effects that continue to haunt her for some time.
