‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 5 preview: The story of Elizabeth Henstridge’s Simmons

Throughout this season of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” already, we have seen a wide array of twists and turns. We’ve caught a glimpse of Lash, met Rosalind, and started to understand just how complicated this new world really is.

It would be easy for the show to blow things up and go even broader next week, but based on some of the early news that we have for “4,722 Hours” (including the short synopsis below), the focus could be on Elizabeth Henstridge’s character figuring out how to pick up the pieces and move forward. The synopsis below gives you some more news on what to expect:

“After her dramatic rescue from another planet, Simmons is still reeling from her ordeal and reveals how she had to fight for her life in a harsh new world.”

What is interesting is that in this, there is no mention of the fact that Simmons still has a desire to return. She may not want to from the standpoint of her sanity / physical safety, but she also may been like she has no other choice but to finish what she started. Whatever she started is hopefully something that is going to be revealed on this upcoming episode, which could set the stage for many other good ones for this character the rest of the season. We’re all for giving Simmons good material; we just hope that the show finds a unique way to integrate Fitz, as well.
