‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ spoilers: Alek Skarlatos, Hayes Grier, Andy Grammer ‘iconic dances’ revealed
Going into Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars” episode, we know already a little bit about what the theme is going to be: Iconic Dances. Basically, what that means is that the remaining performers are going to have to strut their stuff to some of the most famous routines in the history of entertainment.
So what makes this complicated? Think along the lines of the fact that not all of these dances are actually of a specific style, and many of them have some extremely iconic movements. Also, there’s the challenge for some of these people having to perform slightly more racy routines than they are used to. (Specifically, we’re looking at the two members of the PenaVega household.)
Check out the full list of the performances below.
Aleck Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold – “Jailhouse Rock” routine from the famous movie.
Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas – “I’m a Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears. Good look making this network-appropriate.
Andy Grammer and Allison Holker – “Good Morning” from Singing in the Rain. Andy has the charm to pull this off.
Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough – “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” from Dirty Dancing. One of the most iconic routines ever, and if you didn’t know, Bindi is the same age as Jennifer Grey’s character in the movie.
Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson – “Pony” from Magic Mike. We don’t love that a dancer has to perform something from what is basically a movie about stripping.
Hayes Grier and Emma Slater – “You’re the One that I Want” from Grease. It’s certainly appropriate, given that Hayes is still so young and many of the older viewers show find this endearing.
Nick Carter & Sharna Burgess – “You Should Be Dancing” from Saturday Night Fever. Nick is a great dancer, but this is a tougher routine than some others.
Paula Deen & Louis van Amstel – “Vogue” by Madonna. Wait, wait? Yes, this could happen.
Tamar Braxton & Val Chmerkovskiy – “Rhythm Nation” by Janet Jackson. We have zero doubt on their ability to kill this.
If you missed it, we had more news recently all about the dance that Bindi is going to be performing.
