‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 4 preview: ‘Strike Force’ and the great Jerome aftermath

Gotham -Monday night’s “Gotham” can be really described in one word and one word only, and that is “insane.” Jerome continued his reign of terror, and did so with creating one of the most intense hostage situations that we’ve seen through the past year or two. How it ended is something that we definitely did not expect: The end of Jerome. It happened near the end of “The Last Laugh,” with the series making it clear that the end of his life may inspire many others to try to take up his unique style of mayhem.

Now, it does feel pretty clear that we are going to see Theo Galavan fully in power. Next week’s “Strike Force” is somewhat of a mystery, but based on the synopsis below, we’re going to see Harvey and Jim Gordon working closely together again:

“As a contentious city council vote on the future of the Arkham district approaches, politicians from both sides are in danger. Gordon and Bullock must race to protect the council and an old friend visits Gordon.”

As the promo below indicates, one of the big shifts moving into the next new episode is the arrival of Michael Chiklis as Nathaniel Barnes, the new boss over at the GCPD and someone who is going to come into the precinct with a very authoritative sense about him. He quickly makes Gordon his #2, and also says that more than anything else, he wants to ensure that the Penguin is eliminated. For those who wanted more Robin Lord Taylor, you are about to get him.
