‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: Margo Harshman will return; also, more Tony romance news!
With the “NCIS” season 13 premiere coming up on Tuesday night, of course this is the time when those closely involved with the show start to share a wide array of teasers for what to expect … and for this particular article, much of it is romance-related.
The first thing that we will tell you here is that, per showrunner Gary Glasberg’s comments to The Hollywood Reporter, Margo Harshman is going to be back as Delilah. She and McGee will be living together, and we’re happy to see more of her. We like the Delilah character a lot, and wish that we had more of her on at least a semi-regular basis. Maybe that is going to happen now.
In talking about some of the other characters, it looks like Bishop’s marriage could be facing some hard times thanks to her commitment to the job, and there is a Tony love story coming that could make longtime viewers of the show happy:
“A really significant story is Emily Wickersham’s character, Bishop, and how this job with NCIS is affecting her marriage. That will continue to arc out and really take her on a a bit of a journey, and she’s been doing a beautiful job, and we’re excited about where that’s headed. Down the road, we’ll continue to delve into the love life of Tony DiNozzo, and there might be some surprises for people a little further down the road into the season on that one, especially for our diehard fans.”
We’re trying to be at least somewhat careful on how much we say on the subject of the Tony story right now, mostly because the last thing that we want to do is get people’s hopes up that a certain someone (do we really have to name her?) could be turning back up. What we will say is this: There’s been enough distance that we are probably a little more optimistic than we’ve been in the past.

That quote from Glasberg about Tony’s love life could been seen as a hint that Tony is finally going to realize that the biggest, longest and most fulfilling relationship in his life is the one that he has with Gibbs and that they should take ‘that’ relationship to another level, especially with Gibbs apparently re-evaluating what he wants from the remainder of his life.
Not that I think the show would dare go there. But still, it is as valid an interpretation of the spoiler as that it applies to Ziva.
But to certain fans that spoiler can ‘only’ be about Ziva and articles like this one have no compunction about adding her name in, where Glasberg hasn’t, to titillate those fans.

It’s also interesting that there are rumors circulating that NCIS have attempted to have her back at least once since she left…

My interest in Tony’s cardboard romance is zero. When does she go?

According to Glasberg Ziva won’t be back for the Gibb’s flashback/dead people episodes. I don’t believe he meant the full S13. It would be nice if Tony and Ziva got to finish their story. I’m not sure Glasberg is capable of writing any love story, but Michael and Cote’s chemistry always outshone GG’s dismal showrunner skills and Harmon’s insistence they stay apart. I have no doubt it will light the fire again if Ziva returns.

Glasberg was referring to the season premiere, not the whole season. GLasberg is miserable at writing love stories, and even worse at writing women characters. Michael and Cote elevated his dreadful material.

NCIS is not a show about love stories. The show would go on with Tony and Ziva becoming a couple. THAT would be a bore scenario.

Bone up on DP Bellisario who created this show. Watch JAG or all of NCIS. The romance was always part of his winning style. Relationships were very important to him. He said so himself. I suppose you will give me the usual stuff about how Bellisario didn’t know much about his own creation.

I don’t care what DPB has said or not. I’m talking about my own opinion and for me, Tiva happening would kill the show. I’m not interested in seeing that. And I’m not alone. Just because the creator has his own mind I’m not forced to agree with everything he said or wanted.
Even when DPB was in charge, there were no hints to make Tiva cannon btw.

I would like to see that certain someone to make few appearances.Ziva David is a brilliant character and loved by many-many fans.
BTW..GG never has said she won’t be back for S13:that is just an interpretation of his comment about Gibbs episode and Gibbs visitors from past.I am glad she won’t be the one of them:the last thing I want Ziva is coming back for Gibbs.

oh god no. Please don’t let Ziva come back for Gibbs. He abandoned her as sure as her father did. The one man who was always there, was Tony.

Ziva shouldn’t come back for anyone. She used Tony, she abused him but according to people like you that’s true love I know. Gibbs and Tony deserve better, everyone deserves better than Ziva.

September 22, 2015 @ 9:20 pm
You don’t know that Gibbs abandoned her. He may have been in touch with her all this time. The last we heard of Ziva, she was on the phone with the functional mute.

Void point. Just like we don’t know if Tony and Ziva were officially a couple. They could have been secretly married years ago. Except, oh wait. You Ziva haters usually insist that things we didnt explicitly see on the show definitely, positively, no way ever happened.

What is your problem? I have argued in the past that the kiss on the tarmac was a romantic kiss not just a kiss like you would give grandma or a coworker. The clues dropped by the writers were enough for me that this was not just a casual friendship between coworkers. I can hardly be called a Ziva hater.. Anasan, LSilvaxx, etc. are the haters.

I really hope we saw the last of Zoe Keates this past season. She and Tony have zero chemistry, and it was painful to watch their “romance” scenes. As for Ziva David, it would be great to see her back this next season :) #FingersCrossed

Accoding to Glasberg, that certain someone won’t be back for S13 and I’ll keep my hopes up that he sticks to his word. I really like Tony with Keates. She respects him and doesn’t use and/or abuse him and I see Tony growing so much with her. I hope to see Marisol and Margo much more in the future, not only this season.

I hope you’re right. I am a die-hard NCIS fan and have no desire to see that certain someone return. The fans who have been whining, complaining and generally throwing a tantrum for 2 years are NOT die-hard fans, they are ZivaTiva fans who have no time for the show since their idol left. They have trashed the show, the actors, the show runner and other fans. Bringing Ziva back would be an insult to those fans who have continually supported the show.

NCIS lost millions of viwers with the departure of Ziva! Almost half of young people (the demo) stopped watching. If Ziva comes back, the ratings will be as good as before ;)

I think you’re wrong. I think that if Ziva came back, most of the Ziva fans would be disappointed. She’s been through a lot these past two years and so has Tony. She’s not going to come back and pick up where she left off. For all we know, she’ll show up married with a baby on the way. It’s not as if she’s going to pop off the elevator and be all, “oh, hi Tony … your ninja is back” and Tiva will resume. The Ziva fans may want to think about what they’d do if Ziva returned but Tiva didn’t.

Of course Ziva would be different. I would love to see how she has changed since she left. Her connection with Tony was permanent, because that’s how it works. It doesn’t matter what happens in the interim. The X Files has been off the air for 13 years. The actors STILL have 1000% of the chemistry they always had onscreen, regardless of what the characters went through. THey just finished filming a mini series of X Files. Of course it changes. It gets BETTER.

Yes. But I get the impression from many (not all) Ziva / Tiva fans that the expectation is Tony & Ziva will pick up right where they left off. That they’ll get all the Tiva moments they’ve dreamed of. I’m just saying the possibility exists that Ziva returns but Tiva doesn’t. It’s not a given that it’ll all be written the way they want it. Television is full of couples who were meant to be together but don’t end up that way.
agentscully514
September 22, 2015 @ 1:15 am
I have not had that sense at all. I think most Ziva fans are intrigued to learn how she changed. and guess what, TV is also full of couples who did end up together and it was brilliant.

I have seen small pockets of fans who seem to be interested specifically in Ziva, but the majority of the fans seem to believe that Ziva = Tiva. Period; end of story; no matter what. You could make a drinking game out of the number of times the phrase “Tiva is endgame” shows up online. My only point is that there could well be a Ziva return in the books that does NOT include Tiva. Would Ziva without Tiva be better or worse than no Ziva at all?

AS doesn’t want Ziva without Tiva – she’s said that many times. She is one of the many for whom, as she herself has stated, Tiva is the endgame and nothing else matters.

Actually no, the people in the younger demo stopped watching in season 10, before Ziva left, not after. The is no shred of evidence that an actual return of Ziva will seriously affect the ratings, although a one-off, hyped appearance will likely produce a spike as people tune in for the novelty value rather than for Ziva herself – as with Eli David’s murder.
Other shows have also lost millions of viewers since Ziva departed, perhaps she should ‘return’ to them as well.

This is comedy GOLD. You and your nasty friends posted the most vile things I’ve ever seen about Ziva and Cote, for 8 years, and you haven’t let up in the 2 years since she left. Please tell us more about how much better you are.

September 22, 2015 @ 3:31 pm
Oh, please. The level of hatred you and your friends post on a daily basis about Mark Harmon, Gary Glasberg, Pauley Perrette and anyone else who dares to say anything not slavishly fawning over Cote de Pablo and Ziva is stunning in its vitriol. It’s only surpassed by the level of vitriol you have for anyone who challenges your narrow little worldview.

Glasberg was referring to the season premiere, not the whole season. Keates respects him, really? Is that why she climbs all over him in front of his co workers? Or showed up in the bullpen making comment about how he left her handcuffed to the bed? Nothing says respect like vulgar sex talk at your boyfriend’s work.
LSilvaxx
September 22, 2015 @ 4:37 am
But throwing him down, making him look like a complete idiot infront of his co-workers, Holding a gun to his face is being respectful or what? Stay away from me Lucie. Whatever you like in Ziva, I don’t.
Lisa Liscoumb
September 22, 2015 @ 3:23 pm
And asking a complete stranger, loudly, in the middle of bullpen in front of his coworkers if he’s having phone sex is alright? Remember, that was Ziva’s introduction to the team. Or there’s the time she licked Tony’s face in front of his co-workers at the NCIS Sexual Harassment seminar. Or the time she called him deadweight in the bullpen, in front of his co-workers, to his boss’s face. But I guess those were okay because she was his “twoo wuv”.

September 28, 2015 @ 4:10 pm
Very interesting that you don’t believe climbing all over someone in front of his co-workers indicates respect. I have been saying that for some time.

I have no interest in seeing Ziva back as she was such a corny soapish mary sue and also she treated Tony like he was dog poo on her superior show. This long time NCIS and Tony fan would love to see a return of Jeanne Benoit. I don’t mind Zoe Keates at all, but IMO Tony’s romance with Jeanne was the most convincing romance of the entire series. I know that the current ptb are doing everything they can to try to make McGee interesting but frankly he and his romance and his ascendency to second in command is a total bore because neither the character or the actor is compelling. Tony is the interesting character who has been sidelined ever since Glasberg took over and turned NCIS into the Gibbs Show. I hope that this teaser about Tony getting some decent attention this season isn’t just the usual insincere, not followed through on, BS. I just don’t trust Tony spoilers anymore.
