Hillary Clinton’s response to GOP Debate? Fun with Jimmy Fallon on ‘The Tonight Show’
Tonight, a very good chunk of America (especially those on social media) were glued to their televisions, watching something that is very much different than the typical weeknight programming: The GOP Debate on CNN. We get the sense that some were taking it seriously, while some others were just there to poke fun of it in as many different ways as possible. Ah politics, this happens just about every year.
While the debate was taking place tonight, Hillary Clinton decided that she would find a venue of her own for some extra press in her campaign: “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” She’s always been game to skewer herself, so she was fine taking part in a sketch with Jimmy that was a mock-conversation with his version of Donald Trump. Interestingly, this is the same impression Fallon used recently in his own sketch with the former “Celebrity Apprentice” host.
The video below is of course silly, but would you expect anything less given that we are talking about a Trump parody here? What we still wonder here above all else is whether or not these are the sort of things that actually get more people talking or voting for a specific candidate. Sure, it is more of a platform, but we haven’t seen that much of a direct correlation just yet between these sort of things and public support.
We’ll surely have more videos to talk about in terms of campaign spoofs on “The Tonight Show” in the future. After all, this is still early in the Presidential election.
