‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: Can Andre find a way back into the business?
The second season of “Empire” has so far been built around one simple presence, and as per usual, Lucious Lyon is front and center for it. With him behind bars, is it possible that the business can still function and flourish? Or, is it possible that things start to fall apart completely? We are not ruling either thing out completely, but it looks like by the end of the second episode, it is possible that we could have Terence Howard’s character out of prison and preparing to do what he does best: Stir up trouble.
The synopsis below via SpoilerTV is your first look at the upcoming third episode of the season entitled “Fires of Heaven,” and it definitely appears as though this is going to be an interesting journey into seeing who can promise this man the most to get what they want:
“Anika secretly work together behind Lucious’ back to pull off a surprise performance that catches the eye of Pitbull (guest-starring as himself). Meanwhile, Lucious tracks down Frank Gathers’ daughter, Young Ma (guest star Bre-Z Murray), to try to convince her to sign with him at Empire, while Hakeem is hard at work on his girl group, Ménage a Trois. Also, Andre and Rhonda hope their baby-on-the-way will be the key that unlocks Lucious’ cold heart and opens the door for Andre to return to the Empire.”
In some ways, we could feel like watching people fight for control and a spot on the label is a broken record in its own right. This is what the challenge of this show will most likely be. Is it possible that the writers will come up with a way to make this series feel creative, even if there is at times a rinse-and-repeat quality in this industry? Time will tell.
