MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 5, episode 4 preview: Jenna and Matty’s yearbook crisis

There has admittedly been on occasion with “Awkward” stories that suffer mostly from trying to do too much, when in reality the best thing that the show can do for itself is take a deep breath, and try to simplify matters into just one or two key stories. Based on the promo that the MTV series showed off at the end of Monday night’s new episode, this could be what they are doing going into the story next week.

The main plotline coming up seems to be about the time-honored tradition of yearbook day, where a select group of people work hard to ensure that the book is full of memories that people are going to care about for many years to come. There are also the random awards for “most likely” to do this or that. It’s something that every high school student knows very well.

So how is Jenna going to react when she is voted “Most Disappointing” out of her entire class? It is a good question, and something that we hope that we are going to have some more information about in the near future. Who would put that in an actual yearbook? In the world of this show, anything for the most part is possible.

There is still one other question when it comes to Matty and Jenna right now, and it is a simple one: What did he write in her book? That seems to be something that will define their future. It is at least something that is worth remembering.
