‘The Bastard Executioner’: See Lee Jones, Stephen Moyer, more in new cast photos

The premiere of “The Bastard Executioner” is going to be coming your way on FX September 15, and as a way to get you better prepared for this big day, we come bearing great things today: A few cast photos for characters you should know very well! This is just one of many articles we’ll be doing to prepare you for the premiere, so don’t worry if a few people you are particularly looking forward to seeing are not included here.

Of course, the image above is of the title character, a man named Wilkin Brattle (Lee Jones) who, after a troubled past and then an attempt to start new as a farmer, finds himself in a position where he must become a wayward executioner. This is his story, and it will be rather interesting to watch all of this unfold.

Now, let’s move on to a few other people, shall we?

Stephen Moyer – The “True Blood” alum plays Milus Corbett, a Chamberlain, Chancellor and Justiciar who is is adept at finding unique ways of surviving. As you can see below, he’s going for a different look than we saw as Bill Compton.

Timothy V. Murphy – In some shows, a character like his Father Ruskin would not be necessarily formidable. However, in this medieval world you have to remember just how much power the church truly yields.

Kurt Sutter – The showrunner plays The Dark Mute, a man known for rarely speaking or showing his face. He is a love of Annora, played by Katey Sagal.
