‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: Is Cookie about to start her own label?

Empire -The news about “Empire” season 2 just continues to keep on coming out! It was only yesterday that we had some insight into the Fox series’ upcoming season 2 premiere, and we’re here now today with more news on the episode that is directly following that. “Without a Country” airs on September 30, and this will show us more of the aftermath of what happens following our first look at Lucious Lyon in prison.

Apparently, one of the most notable stories here is going to be trying to figure out how Cookie handles not getting the stake that she wants in Empire Entertainment, at least to the point where she wants to try something new with a solo label. Take a look at the attached synopsis for some further insight:

“Cookie and her cohorts decide to start their own small record label, but it’s off to a bumpy start as everyone has different visions for the new label. As his first project for the new company, Hakeem decides to form a girl group and woos a hot Latina lead singer (guest star Becky G.), proving that he can be more than just an artist. Meanwhile, Lucious, feeling extra pressure from a bloodthirsty prosecutor, hires a new lawyer (guest star Andre Royo) and records an epic track from inside jail. In Lucious’ absence, Jamal neglects his music and makes business moves that further his journey toward becoming every bit as ruthless as his father.”

Basically, the easy way to summarize these first two episodes is that every character is still going to be battling some demons, and also trying out a variety of new ventures in the wake of Empire itself being somewhat ambiguous. Can any of these characters step out of their company’s shadow? We’re about to find out.
