Joe Biden to appear on September 10 episode of ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’
While “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” may have already announced the majority of their guests for the first week of shows, that has not stopped them from letting in a few last-minute additions here and there. This is where we are with Joe Biden.
Today, it was confirmed that the Vice-President will be appearing on the show on Thursday, September 10, which just so happens to be its third episode on the air. This is not the first time that Colbert will have interviewed Biden while in office; he previously did so back in a 2010 episode of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report.” The difference of course is rather simple: Back then, he was playing his still-infamous character. Now, he will be able to actually interview him as himself.
Announced a seating politician to a late-night talk show is something that we suppose is big news, but it is not necessarily earth-shattering news. We feel like what could make this so is that this is the first major late-night interview for Biden since there were reports about him considering a Presidential run. Could he announce his candidacy on the show? We’re not sure if he will, but it will certainly be one of the subjects up for discussion.
If Biden does announce that he is running on the show, he’ll manage to beat Bernie Sanders to the punch as the first Democratic candidate to appear on Stephen’s show. Bernie is scheduled to appear in the second week; meanwhile, Jeb Bush remains the first candidate overall to grace the show, as he will be turning up in the September 8 premiere.
