‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12 spoilers: More on the show’s new feel

Grey's AnatomyThe twelfth season of “Grey’s Anatomy” is premiering on September 24, and you’ve probably heard a few things here and there already about what is going to be a very different year for the show. Given what we went through with the end of Derek Shepherd in season 11, Shonda Rhimes and the writers clearly realize that this is a chance to shake things up dramatically.

One person who is definitely starting to feel that on set is Jason George, who is going to be around much more throughout season 12 as Dr. Ben Warren. Speaking in a new interview with People Magazine, he described how there is more humor, romance, and some themes from the earlier season of the show that are coming back in a big way:

“They’ve hit reboot almost. There’s a lot of things that make it feel brand new … But it has that lightness and sense of humor that people fell in love with in the first place. And the sexy is back on. There are a lot of people who are not in couples now and are falling into bed. Everyone’s getting a little bit of loving.”

As of right now, it is this new tone and the characters you know that the show is really focused on more than anything else. While it’s possible in theory that this could be the last season of the show, right now Rhimes is not really saying anything about that one way or another. For now, let’s just continue to enjoy the journey, shall we?
