‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12 spoilers: Work set for landmark episode

Basically, any time you make it to a milestone episode above 100 is a tremendous achievement. Only so many shows have the gift of staying on for this long, especially with some of the same cast aboard. While there are many members of “Grey’s Anatomy” who have come and gone, the good news here is still that the entire group is getting set to celebrate what is now a tremendous achievement: 250 episodes in production.

In a post on Twitter, show creator Shonda Rhimes made it clear that the production is well on their way to that achievement, and the table read for the episode is coming next week. Is it possible that we’re going to get some sort of event as a result of making it to 250? It’s possible, but not confirmed. These are the sort of occasions, though, where you do want to give back to your fans. Given everything that viewers went through at the end of season 11, they could use something a little more upbeat.

Is it possible that the show could end up making it to the big 300? At the moment, almost anything is possible so long as Rhimes and Ellen Pompeo stick around. It’s hard to imagine this working without either one of them, but we feel like this could withstand almost any other craziness that is potentially thrown its way.

The new season of “Grey’s Anatomy” premieres on ABC come Thursday, September 24. We’ll hopefully have more news as it starts to come out.
